This simple cookie recipe makes large batches of soft and old-fashioned peanut butter cookies.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 350°F. Line or grease two half-sheet sheets. You can do more batches, but this will give you an idea of how to get started.
  2. Combine the sugar, brown sugar and eggs. Add in vanilla. Mix in the peanut butter jar and stir until well combined. Do not overmix. Make sure to scrape the bowl regularly to make sure everything is well combined.
  3. Mix the flour, baking soda, and flour together until well combined. If using, stir in the chocolate chips.
  4. To make cookies, use a teaspoon or a cookie scoop. You can also roll the balls in sugar if you wish.
  5. Place peanut butter cookie dough balls on a baking sheet. Leave about 1 to 1/2 inches between each cookie. Each cookie should be scored using the tines and pressed down lightly with a fork. You can also use cookie stamps such as these. However, the cookies will spread slightly so the effect may be lost.
  6. Bake for 12 minutes or until tops look dry and bottoms are golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool on the pan for a few minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack. Continue with remaining cookie dough. Serve with large glasses of cold milk
